Acupuncture
Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese medical healing system which is over 3000 years old. It involves treating a variety of diseases and conditions by inserting fine needles into Acupuncture points on the skin in very precise positions. The points coincide with energy channels which run through the body known as meridians. It is theorized that Acupuncture was discovered by ancient physicians who observed where the sick and injured touched their bodies to gain relief from dis-comfort. Like many alternative therapies Acupuncture aims to create balance in the mind, body and soul of the client. Balance is between yin and yang, the quiet, cold, dark qualities and the active warm bright opposite. Acupuncture also stimulates the ‘chi’ or life energy, which flows through the meridians or energy channels of the body. Acupuncture has many medical and therapeutic applications toward healing what has been disturbed (not what has been destroyed).
